As your family photographer, my goal is to capture the heart and spirit of your family—their unique personalities, deep connections, authentic moments, and the love that makes your story uniquely beautiful. My approach combines beautiful lighting, gentle posing, and crafted compositions with genuine interactions and photojournalistic storytelling.

Information

You can expect a laidback and relaxed approach that’s focused on making everyone comfortable. I’ll find (sometimes, create!) nice light and just suggest where you might stand or sit. I like to keep things looking and feeling natural, so our time together feels more like a few friends hanging out. I may let the kids guide our initial interactions and encourage everyone to interact like I'm not even there. It’s more about capturing those real moments than getting you to pose perfectly.

My style and approach

My goal is to capture you and your family just as you are...

"Working with Jamie, was a delight! Her easy going nature made it stress free and fun, capturing natural moments of our family that showcased how we truly are. With our two little kids, she found ways to engage and make their experience light-hearted, keeping them smiling throughout.”

-- Lauren, Family Photography Client

-- Rachel, Family photography client

"Jamie is the best photographer. She has two children so she understands how to work with families and meet them where they are. Her pictures capture special and amazing moments that I wish I could bottle up and hold on to forever. Her pictures make that possible."

-- Natalie, Branding Photography Client

"Jamie took photos of me in my home for my home styling business, and she made me feel incredibly comfortable and relaxed (one of my favorite shots is of me with my 15-year-old dog!) She has an amazing eye for detail and captured various angles of the room that truly showcased the design."

"Jamie has photographed many of our recent life events- engagement, maternity, babies, and two holiday seasons. We continue to work with Jamie because of the comfort she brings our family and how easy it is to work with her; she’s flexible and calm, and has a great vision."

-- Ashley, family photography client

Where will we have our session?

Frequently Asked Questions

I love to photograph families in their homes! I find that people, especially kids, tend to feel most comfortable in a familiar space and that at-home photos have an added layer of authenticity and personality. But if you prefer to have your session at an alternate location, we can work together to find a spot that is meaningful to you — examples are, a favorite park, neighborhood, or activity. Whether it’s apple picking or an ice cream date, I’m always down for an adventure!

Do you have a studio space?

Yes, I rent studio space in Palisades, NY for select sessions and projects. Studio sessions take place in a beautiful, light filled, fully equipped space with a wardrobe rack, steamer, hair and make up station, and top of the line lighting equipment.

Will you travel to us?

Yes! I’m always open to an adventure. When you inquire, please mention the location. Long form sessions are always a great idea when longer distances are involved. Travel fees may apply.

What are your rates?

For all signature sessions, a $275 non-refundable session fee is due at time of booking to secure your date. Digital image + product packages begin at $625. For a 1.5-2 hour session, you can expect an average of 90 images.

Do you offer mini sessions?

I do! I offer them seasonally and in accordance with our yearly holidays. For all mini sessions, a $95 booking fee is required to secure your time slot. Digital image + product packages begin at $215. For a 15 minute session, you can expect an average of 15 images.

What is the best time of day to book our session?

Consider the location! The light is generally best in the morning and evening hours for all outdoor sessions. I know that timing can coincide with “witching hour”, but trust me, a late nap, early dinner/snack, and *bribe* are worth it for that good light.

What should we wear?

Rule number one, be yourself!! Decide first what you want to wear, then coordinate the rest of the family around that. Be sure everyone is more or less on the same level of fancy/casual, pick a color palette of 4-5 colors and stick to it, and mix fabrics, textures, and a print or two to add some visual interest. Check out my complimentary wardrobe guide and consider creating a pinterest board for inspiration, saving inspiration images from instagram, and taking pre-session phone photos just to see how everyone looks together.

Do you shoot elopements, weddings, parties and events?

I shoot select events - Intimate gatherings, elopements, and small weddings are my preferred event types. Please inquire for more info!

Our studio sessions take place in a fully equipped, light-filled space, offering classic, clean, editorial-style portraits for your portfolio, website, or home.
