I want you to walk away with more than just beautiful photographs; I want this to feel like a real experience — a chance to take a break from the obligations and roles we’re all juggling, and just be together. My sessions are designed to give you space to connect, play, and make something meaningful together.

My approach combines beautiful lighting, gentle posing, and crafted compositions with genuine interactions and photojournalistic storytelling.

EXPERIENCE

Working with me is collaborative and experience-driven...

it's about getting in touch with your creativity, being fully present, letting go of rigidity, and spending time together.

This is your reminder that it doesn't have to be perfect to be beautiful or worth documenting. There is beauty in our messes: you don't have to wait until you can buy the perfect outfit, or until everyone can get in for haircuts, or for the most ideal circumstances. Your life is beautiful right now and worthy of celebration, just as it is! My favorite sessions are the ones that don't feel over-planned, the ones that feel like YOU, the ones that allow for a bit of spontaneity, and the ones that seem like a casual get together.

Often, when I work with parents, they believe that choosing the perfect outfits, keeping everything immaculate, or visiting the prettiest location automatically leads to great photos.

However, truly letting go and having fun together is what creates amazing images. I love this photo because it perfectly captures the magic that happens when we abandon rigidity—for example, when a mom allowed her daughter the freedom to hold a box of cookies, she felt relaxed, open, and comfortable enough to snack, resulting in an incredibly adorable moment that we could never have captured if we had clung to expectations.

If there's one thing I encourage, it's to use our time together to let go, relax, and allow your kids and partner the freedom to be open and vulnerable with me.

Letting go of expectations opens the door for truly authentic photos...

This isn’t just your typical photo session...

We’ll plan a really good day—a day that feels special, intentional, and filled with your favorite activities - whether we are in your backyard or on a little day trip.

Once you decide to book, we’ll plan something that feels true to you and this season of life – no matter the session type or event you are booking. This might look like playing catch in the backyard, going on your favorite hike, running around the city with cake and champagne to celebrate your anniversary, or spending the afternoon in your home studio/office documenting your latest work.

You can expect a laidback and relaxed approach that’s focused on making everyone comfortable. I’ll find (sometimes, create!) nice light and just suggest where you might stand or sit. I like to keep things looking and feeling natural, so our time together feels more like a few friends hanging out. I may let the kids guide our initial interactions and encourage everyone to interact like I'm not even there. It’s more about capturing those real moments than getting you to pose perfectly.

My style and approach

My goal is to capture you and your family just as you are...

"Working with Jamie, was a delight! Her easy going nature made it stress free and fun, capturing natural moments of our family that showcased how we truly are. With our two little kids, she found ways to engage and make their experience light-hearted, keeping them smiling throughout.”

-- Lauren, Family Photography Client

-- Rachel, Family Photography Client

"Jamie is the best photographer. She has two children so she understands how to work with families and meet them where they are. Her pictures capture special and amazing moments that I wish I could bottle up and hold on to forever. Her pictures make that possible."

-- Natalie, Branding Photography Client

"Jamie took photos of me in my home for my home styling business, and she made me feel incredibly comfortable and relaxed (one of my favorite shots is of me with my 15-year-old dog!) She has an amazing eye for detail and captured various angles of the room that truly showcased the design."

"Jamie has photographed many of our recent life events- engagement, maternity, babies, and two holiday seasons. We continue to work with Jamie because of the comfort she brings our family and how easy it is to work with her; she’s flexible and calm, and has a great vision."

-- Ashley, Family Photography Client

"Jamie was very patient and supportive as she took photos of my family that included a 5 and 7 year old. One who was not feeling their best. She made everyone feel comfortable and gave us space to calm any discomfort from the children so she could capture photos that ended up being lovely."

Where will we have our session?

Frequently Asked Questions

I love to photograph families in their homes! I find that people, especially kids, tend to feel most comfortable in a familiar space and that at-home photos have an added layer of authenticity and personality. But if you prefer to have your session at an alternate location, we can work together to find a spot that is meaningful to you — examples are, a favorite park, neighborhood, or activity. Whether it’s apple picking or an ice cream date, I’m always down for an adventure!

Do you have a studio space?

Yes, I rent studio space in Palisades, NY for select sessions and projects. Studio sessions take place in a beautiful, light filled, fully equipped space with a wardrobe rack, steamer, hair and make up station, and top of the line lighting equipment.

Will you travel to us?

Yes! I’m always open to an adventure. When you inquire, please mention the location. Long form sessions are always a great idea when longer distances are involved. Travel fees may apply.

What are your rates?

For all signature sessions, a $400 non-refundable session fee is due at time of booking to secure your date. Digital image + product packages begin at $900. For a 1.5-2 hour session, you can expect an average of 90 images.

Do you offer mini sessions?

I do! I offer them seasonally and in accordance with our yearly holidays. For all mini sessions, a $275 booking fee is required to secure your time slot. Digital image + product packages begin at $125. For a 15 minute session, you can expect an average of 15 images.

What is the best time of day to book our session?

Consider the location! The light is generally best in the morning and evening hours for all outdoor sessions. I know that timing can coincide with “witching hour”, but trust me, a late nap, early dinner/snack, and *bribe* are worth it for that good light.

What should we wear?

Rule number one, be yourself!! Decide first what you want to wear, then coordinate the rest of the family around that. Be sure everyone is more or less on the same level of fancy/casual, pick a color palette of 4-5 colors and stick to it, and mix fabrics, textures, and a print or two to add some visual interest. Check out my complimentary wardrobe guide and consider creating a pinterest board for inspiration, saving inspiration images from instagram, and taking pre-session phone photos just to see how everyone looks together.

Do you shoot elopements, weddings, parties and events?

I shoot select events - Intimate gatherings, elopements, and small weddings are my preferred event types. Please inquire for more info!

Our studio sessions take place in a fully equipped, light-filled space, offering classic, clean, editorial-style portraits for your portfolio, website, or home.
